Yesterday we took on the Wisconsin Blizzard in the opening round of the championship bracket. We came up short 62-48 to close out what I considered a productive and fun weekend up in Mankato. We finished 2-2 with our both of our losses coming to the 2 teams who played in the championship game. We had chances to win both games and if given another opportunity, could have gotten 2 wins.
Thanks for all the parents who drove up and allowed their sons to play all weeekend.
Also, this basically wraps up our summer team camp schedule and A BIG THANK YOU goes out to ALL the parents who have helped drive, supported, and allowed their sons to so involved. It has been a very busy June for everyone but we got so much accomplished. That would have not happened w/o so many great parents!!
After falling a bit short the first night against MN Glory, the boys bounced back yesterday with two nice wins! In the morning we knocked North Dakota Phenom 69-45. Nate Cole led us in scoring with 19 and Trevon Moody came off the bench with 13.

The 2nd game of the day was a good battle against MN United in which whoever won got the 2nd seed and get an opportunity to play in the Championship Bracket. It was close the whole way with us making a late run to win 79-67. We had 4 guys in double figures which is what I love to see!! Nate Cole (19), Tyler Howard (16), Colton Kooima (14), and Josh Kirkwold (10).
Below are Team and Individual Stats for the tournament thus far. Currently we are 2nd in scoring at 70 ppg and hopefully we can keep that up today as we start the tournament at 11:20 vs. Pool C winners, Wisconsin Blizzard.
Lost our first game last night in the Mr. Basketball Tourney by 7. Down 40-20 at halftime as we came out flat and just started off cold shooting. But got within 3 with 2 minutes to go but give credit the MN Glory for hitting all their FT's down the stretch. Game 2 is this morning at 11:30 vs. North Dakota Phenom. Looking for a bounce back game and putting two complete half's together.

This past weekend we took 16 boys up to SMSU Team Camp where we fielde two varsity teams. It was a good challenging weekend for both teams.
The other part of the weekend consisted of us camping at Lake Shetek for two nights. The boys all stayed in tents and could not have asked for better weather! Stayed cooled enough during the night and at the same time, heated up during the day for the boys to get out in the lake. We got some fishing in, canoeing, swimming, mini golf, and a water balloon fight in through out the weekend.
All in all, it was a lot of fun and no incidents to report :-)
Another successful Rider Basketball weekend as we took 4 teams to the Augustana Team Camp w/ 2 of the 4 teams winning their division!! Led by our Varsity 1 team knocking off Pierre in the championship and Varsity 2 team knocking off Sioux Valley.
Overall Record for all 4 teams at camp was 19-3!!! Next up we are will be sending two teams up to Southwest Minnesota Team Camp in Marshall along with a weekend of camping!!
Officially kicked off our summer schedule with a successful RHS Camp last week in which we had over 144 kids signed up 2nd through 12th grade. Had cooler temps outside which made it gym perfect for camp and we got a lot accomplished.
We then took 2 Varsity Teams down to Dordt Team Camp in Sioux Center, Iowa in which we went 5-1 overall. RHS1 beat Hull Western Christian, Lawton-Bronson, and then MOC-Floyd Valley. RHS2 lost their opening game vs. Spirit Lake but came back and beat Ellsworth and Central Lyon. To cap it all, Kyle Lyons hit a 3/4 court shot vs. Central Lyon at the buzzer to win by 2!!! The place went nuts and was great for the boys to finish that way.
We took a Sophomore Team down to USD as well and played in the JV division where they went 2-1. They lost their opening game but bounced back to win the last two in convincing fashion!
Next up, we are taking 4 teams to compete in the Augustana Team Camp on June 8th and 9th.
